You and representatives of your school district are team members who are responsible for developing an appropriate educational program for your child requring special needs. With proper knowledge and information, you will be prepared to take an active role in your child’s education.

We suggest that parents print and bring the SIP Layperson Pamphlet which explains the recognition, diagnosis,treatment and other basic information on Stickler syndrome to give to the school representative(s).

The New Jersey Dept of Education, Parental Rights in Speacial Education web site can be reviewed and used as a generic reference to parental rights.
